Pay Scale of a Civil Engineering in India
The starting salary of a Civil Engineer can be around rupees Fifteen to Twenty per month. After two years of experience , he may getting twenty-five thousand approximately and this might be the same for three to four years of experience. Very few exceptions are there where a person might get an instant hike or a promotion due to change of company/opportunity or some unreasonable cases, where he will be getting a decent salary of Thirty to Forty-five thousand after two years of experience.
You can consider starting salary to be Rs 15000 - 20000, and after two years of experience approximately Rs 25000 and you can add 5-10% ( taking approximately 7.5% a year) of this for every consecutive year. Then his salary can be Rs 45000 in 10 years of experience. This can be the average salary of a civil engineer.
Working in the same organisation ( construction field ) for long period like 5years to 10years is a loss for engineers if they are not getting 15% to 25% increment every year . So it's better to approach in new company or whenever there is decent pay scale.
Companies like L & T, Asia Engineering Company, Chennai Radha Engineering Company recruiting every year through campus recruitment rally & they will pay 35% to 65% less salary comparing with their counterparts in north India & central India .
If you upgrade your skills consistently & dedicatedly which adds value to your experience by including things which would make your resume stand odd one out, then you can make the amount twice after 10 years. Some may get promoted to managerial positions if you work in pan India company or MNCs and get lucrative amount of salary as like software professionals. ( I am just talking about the job salary, if you are starting your own company/firm/start-up then it depends on how successful you are by your networks and the contracts you get).
Choosing this field is by your own interest, then you can be that exception. Otherwise, you will be the average person as I said in beginning and you will slog 12?14 hours everyday.
