Structural analysis & steel structure design can be accomplished with LTBeam

Structural analysis & steel structure design can be accomplished with LTBeam.

LTBeam 1.0 is a software application that determines the "Lateral Torsional Buckling of Beams" under bending action relative to their principal axis of bending. Developed with the support of the European Community for Steel and Coal, this construction program is useful and based on a research project.

LTBeam can streamline the process of designing Steel Structures. In the case of an excessive amount of bending action, lateral torsional buckling (LTB) develops. It produces abruptly and concurrently a lateral bending deformation and a longitudinal torsional deformation over the unrestrained length of the beam.

The LTBeam software is capable of working with straight single- and multi-span beams, under simple bending in relation to their strong axis, and with cross-sections having two or four symmetrical lines orientated in the plane of the bending.

It is possible to apply discrete and continuous lateral restraints, as well as partial and elastic restraints, against LTB. Furthermore, these restraints can be applied to lateral displacement, torsional rotation, lateral flexural rotation, and warping.

LTBeam is designed to work specifically with steel beams, but it can also work with other materials if they are assigned specific properties.
